Our Beginnings

Our journey began in the corporate world. Having grown long and successful careers as HR experts, we mastered our craft by opening and growing new and exciting businesses, developing our future leaders, setting teams up for success and navigating our ever-changing environment.

Once we emerged from Covid hibernation we found a different world; a world in which dynamics had shifted. Talent grew increasingly scarce, competition for people was supercharged, and the age of the self-determined employee began. No longer tied to one job, employees embraced the new gig economy. With new technology at our fingertips, the way we interacted with our world had changed.

Employers had changed too, and none more so than those in the small to medium sector. Those that had weathered Covid had learnt to adapt to daily changes in our environment; keeping our teams both lean and agile to survive. Now, the new gig worker was available, complementing our need for lower overhead costs and flexibility.

Thus began the age of the workforce ecosystem: an environment of flexible and agile systems, built on lower costs, diverse gig workers, and project-specific teams.

James gets his energy from helping businesses imagine their future goals, meticulously plan it out, and get them there. Future-oriented, he uses clear direction and energy to navigate through each unique business challenge. A challenge-oriented endurance runner, he’s always got his next demanding goal in mind: whether it be a marathon, a Human Resources project, or growing his business.

James has accumulated a wealth of experience opening and growing some amazing businesses across a wide range of industry sectors in Australia including large hotels, a convention centre, two stadiums, small-scale NFPs, retailers and hospitality businesses. What he believes matters most on every one of these projects is leading from the front. Everyone loves to be strategic, but it's the small details that if not executed well, can be the make or break of any project.

Nobody has the skills to be the best in every area. That’s why he has accumulated an ecosystem of HR specialists operating their own businesses. Each of his collaborators shares a common goal: to provide flexible, collaborative and adaptive solutions for each of their unique clients.
